MEDIS-ALARM

We wish to introduce you to our unique MEDIS-ALARM database, which we have been building since 1991 with the idea of creating a comprehensive data collection for the most commonly used hazardous chemicals. This database has expanded appreciably since its inception and today contains detailed information on the properties and legislative context of nearly 10,000 hazardous chemicals.

Hazardous chemicals included in the database

  • All substances (index numbers) listed in Annex VI to the CLP Regulation (1272/2008/EC) – Harmonised classification and labelling for certain hazardous substances, including oil-derived substances
  • All substances that are listed and classified as dangerous in the current ADR/RID version (2021)
  • Other selected substances listed in standards relating to pesticides, biocidal products, occupational health, hygienic limits (EU/CZ/SK/PL) and the like

Information included in the database

Each hazardous chemical substance record is divided into the following sections:

  • F1 – Identification and classification data: CAS, EINECS, index numbers, substance classification according to applicable legislation, basic information according to ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA, ERG, ERIC, HAZCHEM, molecular and structure formulas, synonyms, etc.
  • F2 – Basic properties and fire-fighting methods – flammability and reactivity data, fire-fighting methods and measures at the scene and post-accident steps. Precautionary measures
  • F3 – Physical and chemical properties: appearance, physical state, melting point, boiling point, density, solubility, vapour pressure, etc.
  • F4 – Transport – according to the agreements on the transport of dangerous goods: ADR, RID, IMDG, IATA. Class, classification code, packing group, hazard label, special provisions, etc.
  • F5 – First aid and medical treatment: intoxication symptoms and first aid measures according to the substance properties
